No profile to polish, no opener to rehearse, no audience to impress. "Just" is permission to arrive exactly as you are.

A real person, live right now, and a conversation with no script and no scoreboard. Words before everything.

Pressed together they make Justalk — a place where the only thing between two strangers is a conversation.

Why is it called Justalk?

Justalk is two small words pressed together: just and talk. The second word is the product — talking to a real person, live, face to face. The first word is the philosophy, and it is doing a lot of quiet work: just as in "only this, nothing else required". No profile to polish. No opener to rehearse. No audience to impress. You don't need a plan, a reason or a good hair day — you can just talk.

The full tagline finishes the thought: Just talk. See what happens. It is less a slogan than a bet — that if you remove every bit of admin between two strangers, the conversation itself is interesting enough to carry the evening. Ten seconds or two hours; every chat writes its own ending.

The name had to be easy to say in any language and impossible to misunderstand. "Justalk" passes both tests: say it out loud and you have already been given the instructions. You can see the idea illustrated in the name story above.

“The best conversations never start with a plan.”

What the name means in practice

Just a tap

Open the site and press start — no download, no account required to look around. The distance between curiosity and a live conversation is one tap.

Just a person

Every match is a real human who is online at that exact moment — no bots, no loops, no old clips pretending to be live.

Just your pace

Text first, voice when it flows, video when it feels right. Camera optional at first means shy people get to be here too.

Just a moment

Nothing is recorded, ranked or saved for later. When a chat ends, it ends — the moment is the whole product.

Why we built Justalk

The internet gave us endless ways to be seen and almost none that feel like being heard. Somewhere between the follower counts and the curated photos, meeting someone new turned into admin: write a bio, pick your best angle, swipe, wait, small-talk, ghost, repeat.

Justalk is our way back. It keeps the one thing the early internet got right — the electric surprise of a stranger — and strips away everything that piled on top of it. Matching is instant because curiosity should not have to queue. There is no profile because the conversation is the introduction. And leaving is one tap because a door that is easy to walk out of is the only kind people relax inside of.

If you want the experience in detail, the chat with strangers guide is the best next read — and the free cam chat guide covers how the camera-optional ladder works for the camera-shy.

What the logo means

The Justalk mark runs a blue-violet "J" into a warm pink-orange "talk" — the same gradient you will see across every button on the site. It is the feeling of a good conversation: curious at the start, warm in the middle, and glowing a little after it ends.

And that is the whole answer to "what is Justalk?" — a short name for a simple idea, built carefully so that two strangers can have the kind of conversation the rest of the internet forgot how to host. Open the home page and say hi — or read how we keep every chat comfortable on the safety page.
